Ayesha is a filmmaker, photographer, and editor based in New Delhi. She has been generating independent and commissioned projects for film and television for nearly two decades. Starting her film career in the Art Department under the guidance of Aradhana Seth, Production Designer, she has worked with directors Deepa Mehta, Mira Nair, Rahul Bose, and Farhan Akhtar. Her craft as a filmmaker emerges both in Independent and commercial cinema as well as short and long form documentaries.

She wrote, directed and produced her own independent short film, The Cherry On Top, which received critical acclaim and screened at prestigious film festivals across the globe. Additionally, she directed the MensXP series, Toughest Men in India (Digipub Silver World Best Video Series 2018), and Produced and Edited the series Toughest Women in India, both of which explore what pushes people to do the most difficult jobs in the country. 

 

Furthermore, her passion for music, sound and storytelling extends to directing the second season of The Dewarists (2012 Bronze Cannes winner) and Co-Writing, Editing, and Producing the original investigative podcast, Trial by Error: The Aarushi Files. Her current work at Jamun involves her conceptualising and directing commissioned and original work.
